Is it possible to only allow a certain ip range to download from the hub?

Currently the hub is serving users on a LAN. What i want to be able to do is have the hub accessible to the outside world (internet) but people connected from the outside world only be able to chat, not to download.

Is this already possible?

yes, it's possible with combination of ipgags and ipgag_type

you have to ipgag all ranges different than LAN range, best way is using wildcars for that
an example for 192.168.*, note where are dots

disadvantage of this way will be sending "you were gagged from" message when user is logging in

is there a way to gag all members from downloading?
at the moment when a VIP connects they are still able to download. and they dont get the security message

IP gags affect all classes less than ADMIN
however due to bug no message is send to non-REGULAR users

You already told us how to restrict downloads from certain IPs. Thanks. It was really helpful!
Now, how to give my OPs ability to mute users with certain IPs that aren't in the ipgaglist? The ipgag_type is set to 1. So, if OP will gag some ip, the user still will be able to write messages to main chat. Right?
!gag ain't helpful, cuz gagged user can reconnect with another name.

I'm going to run a dc++ hub in a LAN that has access to the Internet. So I want to restrict downloads for user from Internet but to allow them to chat. At the same time I want OPs to mute some bad lan users for a while, so they would sit still downloading whatever they want without bothering other people.

P.S.: The hub is running on a router, so up-to-date *.ipk releases are really needed.
